Why convert HEIC to JPG or PNG?
iPhone photos, everywhere else
HEIC is Apple's default photo format since iOS 11. It's smaller than JPG at the same quality, but plenty of software, older Windows PCs, and web forms still can't open it.
No account, no upload
The conversion runs in your browser using WebAssembly. Your photos are decoded and re-encoded on your own device — this page never sees them.
Batch friendly
Drop in a whole camera roll export. Each file converts independently, and you can grab everything at once as a .zip when it's done.
Common questions
Is this actually free?
Yes. There's no file limit, no watermark, and no account. The site is supported by ads, not by charging for conversions.
Do my photos get uploaded anywhere?
No. Everything happens locally in your browser tab using WebAssembly. If you turn off your Wi-Fi after the page loads, conversion still works.
What's the difference between HEIC and HEIF?
HEIF is the general container format; HEIC is Apple's specific implementation of it for photos. This tool handles both.
Will I lose quality converting to JPG?
JPG uses lossy compression, so there's some quality loss — use the quality slider to control it. Converting to PNG instead is lossless, but produces a larger file.
Can I convert Live Photos?
A Live Photo's HEIC file contains a single still frame; that frame converts normally. The motion portion is a separate video file your Photos app manages alongside it.
